Expert: Skype, Outlook may stop working in Russia
MOSCOW, Jun 21 (PRIME) -- Microsoft programs working on cloud platform live.com, including mail service Outlook and video conferencing service Skype, could become unavailable for Russians, Ruslan Permyakov, deputy head of the center of excellence Technologies of Trusted Interaction of the National Technology Initiative, told PRIME on Tuesday.
“Now, probably, we will keep on having issues with access to products of the company. For example, access to cloud platform live.com could fail. It ties up everything: package of products Microsoft 365, storage OneDrive, mail domain Outlook, Skype, and gaming services,” Permyakov said.
He added that critical updates will be available later, while other devices, like game consoles, may stop functioning. “It will lead to migration either to other products or pirated versions,” the expert said.
Media reported earlier that Russian users were unable to download new operating systems Windows 10 and Windows 11.
